Ronald Schramm

Ronald M. Schramm is Adjunct Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). He was previously on the faculty of Columbia Business School for over twenty-seven years, teaching econometrics, forecasting, managerial economics, macroeconomics, international business, international financial management, international valuation and corporate finance.

His work centres on the Chinese economy and financial system, international finance, currency risk and hedging, and the international cost of capital. He has researched China since the early 1990s and is the author of The Chinese Macroeconomy and Financial System: A U.S. Perspective and editor of The Sage Handbook of the Chinese Economy.

He holds a bachelor's degree with honours from Harvard University and MA, MPhil and PhD degrees in economics from Columbia University. As an economist at the International Monetary Fund in the early 1990s he worked on debt workouts for heavily indebted countries and on the reform of Uganda's foreign exchange system. He later served at the International Business School Suzhou as Associate Professor, PhD Programme Director and MSc Economics Programme Director.
