David Crowther

David Crowther is Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility at the University of Bedfordshire, and holds professorial appointments at the London School of Commerce and the University of Northampton in the UK, Ansted University in Malaysia, and Shanghai University in China.

He joined Aston University in 1994 and completed a PhD on corporate social performance in 1999; in 2001 he became the world's first Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2003 he convened the first international CSR conference and went on to found the Social Responsibility Research Network, of which he is President.

A qualified accountant who worked in local government, industry and commerce for over twenty years before entering academia, he has published more than eighty books and several hundred articles and chapters.
