Yanzhi Zhao

Yanzhi Zhao is President of Shenyang University and Vice Chairman of the Shenyang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He serves as President of the ICOIS council.

He is a professor and doctoral supervisor holding a doctorate in economics. He graduated from Dalian University of Technology with a bachelor's degree in engineering, and from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics with master's and doctoral degrees in economics, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Surrey in the UK.

He joined Dongbei University of Finance and Economics as a lecturer in June 2001, going on to serve as Deputy Dean of the International Business School, Dean of the Surrey International Institute and Dean of the International Business School, and was appointed Vice President of the university in April 2017. Before entering academia he worked at the Dalian Port Authority and Dalian Chengwen Industrial Investment. His work centres on transnational education and university governance in China.
